Alexander Anderson, along with his brother Simon, were thought to be British soldiers sent to America in 1771. After the war was over Alexander went to Quebec and from there in about 1789 he came to Rustico in Prince Edward Island.

In about 1790 he, then being 45 years old, married 26 year old Margaret McCallum. Her family came from Scotland when she was a little girl and they lived in a town adjacent to Rustico. About 1795 Alexander moved his family to Bedique, P.E.I. Alexander was born in 1745 and lived to 106 years old and died in 1851. The list of his sons that I have are William b1792, Alexander b1795, John Sr. (who is my ancester) Joseph, David and Robert.
