He had a lumber, shingle and grist mill in Peacock's Cove in partnership with his cousin, Milton Peacock. He was an active worker in the church; he went to Switzerland on some business having to do with the Bible Society. He was a first cousin of John Peacock who m. Lizzie's cousin.
